What does Half Ball Handicap mean in betting?

Half Ball Handicap is a handicap line with a half-point value, such as -0.5, +1.5, or -2.5. Its purpose is to remove the possibility of a push and leave only two outcomes: the bet either wins or loses.

How does it work?

If a team is priced at -0.5, it needs a straight win. If the other side has +0.5, the bet also wins in the event of a draw. That is the main feature of a half ball handicap: the half-point leaves no room for a refund. These lines appear especially often in football and in Asian handicap markets.
