Baccarat
What does Baccarat mean?
Baccarat is a card game where two hands are usually compared: Player and Banker. The goal is not to build combinations like in poker, but to predict which side will finish closer to 9 points.
How does the game work?
Each card has a fixed value. Cards from 2 to 9 count at face value. Tens and picture cards count as 0. An ace counts as 1. If the total goes above 9, only the last digit counts. For example, 15 in baccarat counts as 5.
What can you bet on in baccarat?
A player usually has three main options:
a bet on Player;
a bet on Banker;
a bet on Tie.
Why is Baccarat so popular?
The rules are simpler than they may look at first. There are very few decisions during the hand, and the game moves quickly. That is why Baccarat is often chosen by people who want a card game without a complicated strategy. At the same time, the Tie bet is considered more risky, and over the long run many players focus more on Banker and Player.
